The main difference between the A&D FX and FZ series is the calibration method.

The FZ series features internal calibration using a built-in calibration weight. The FX series requires external calibration using a separate weight.

When you purchase an A&D FX balance from us, a 100 g calibration weight is included, so there is no need to purchase one separately.

Apart from the calibration method, both series operate in the same way when used with the SuperTrickler.

The SuperTrickler is designed to work with compatible A&D precision balances. Before purchasing a balance, please check the latest list of supported models in our documentation.

Update — June 2026: The SuperTrickler now automatically detects whether your balance needs to be programmed, making setup much easier.

1. Tap Program on the SuperTrickler screen.
2. Press and hold the Sample button on the balance for 2 seconds.
3. Tap Done on the SuperTrickler screen.
4. The SuperTrickler will begin programming the balance automatically.
5. Wait until the screen confirms that programming is complete.
6. Disconnect the power cable from your SuperTrickler, then reconnect it.
7. The normal startup screen will appear, and your SuperTrickler will be ready to use.

First, make sure your SuperTrickler firmware is up to date and check that your balance settings are correct. If the issue persists, please contact our support team for assistance.

The SuperTrickler requires minimal maintenance. To maintain reliable, consistent performance, keep the unit clean and free of powder residue, and store it in a clean, dry environment.

Always empty all powder from the SuperTrickler after use.

If the Bulk Tube performs poorly or inconsistently, we recommend the following cleaning procedure:

1. Navigate to Menu → Sub Menu → Tools → Motors → Change Bulk Tube → Remove Tube.
2. Remove the Bulk Tube.
3. Clean the tube thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol (IPA).
4. Using a cotton swab lightly moistened with IPA, gently clean the opening inside the SuperTrickler where the Bulk Tube is installed.
5. Allow all cleaned parts to dry completely.
6. Reinstall the Bulk Tube by gently pushing it into position until you feel resistance.
7. Select Install Tube to complete the procedure.

This procedure removes powder dust and residue that can build up over time and affect Bulk Tube performance.
